Texas Spring Inspirations

I have taken some time off from blogging due to lack of inspiration but I have been taking a few photos of Spring scenes I favor after the long cold winter...some of them with a zoom from my morning perch on the deck for coffee. I always decorate the deck with my favorite annuals and spread seed and provide water for the birds and squirrels I love to watch...and photograph.

A few weeks ago the bluebonnets were in full bloom along the highways.
I never get tired of looking at Texas wildflowers in the Spring.
The sparrows are the most skitzy of the deck birds but they eventually get used to me.

Dusk before the "blood" moon that fully eclipsed at 2:00 am.
It was pretty but I couldn't hold the camera steady directly
over my head in my P.J.'s.

The best I could do that chilly night was a bouncing "blood" moon
and  a "streaking" star.

I've seen this little chameleon a number of times sitting on my plants waiting for bugs and it's a puzzle. I've had lots of chameleons on the deck but this is the first one
I've ever seen with spots down his back.

I know he's a chameleon because he changes colors depending on where he's hanging out. I'm wondering if it's Mom got mixed up with one of those big spotted lizards
that hang out in the front flowerbeds...hum.

A "normal" solid color chameleon...the mother maybe?

What's that fool mate of mine doing this time?

Getting high on Comino seeds again?

Awwww Mabel!

The Whitewings rule the deck. They can chase off anything except the dogs.

Snoop & Oaklie rule the backyard.

The squirrels will chatter at me if I let their water bells get empty.

They chatter at the dogs too and I'm sure it goes something
like ($%*+#@*! dogs... always chasing us up and down the fence!

HAVE A GREAT SUMMER! Hopefully I'll
get over my blog block by the Fall.

Such great shots, Anna. You really are gifted with the camera. I too am blog post stale at the moment. I must take a leaf out of your book and start clicking.

Thanks Jill. You have taken some great photos of the scenic nature all round your Australian home and you should share them.

I have always loved nature photos and found after I let the digital age seduce me...I liked taking lots of shots to get a few good ones. There are a few things about this computer age grandma's like...especially finding "cyber" friends like you.

Blog Block. Yep I can relate. It's nice that we have cameras to help fill in the gaps. You've got some really excellent photos. Those dogs of yours have the cutest faces. And the chameleon is very cool. I love the birds and even the silly squirrel.

I think it would be fun to sit on the deck with you, sipping coffee and chatting about life and your plants and the wildlife. You can always post photos of your flowers. You know me. I love to see them. :)

Thanks Grace...I would love to sit out on the deck and discuss a number of things with such a talented author and gardener as you are.

Gorgeous Anna!

What beautiful and inspiring porchscapes and landscapes. And the dogs, I'm sure, keep things very lively! ;)

This morning, my favorite among these is the pre-blood moon at dusk. I am quite taken by the whole image...causes me a sense of peace and gratitude and to take time to notice what is.

Much love your way...

PS: I want to join you and others on your porch too!

Thanks Carol! I hadn't seen a blood moon in decades but they have always intrigued me, as do the stars wondering what's out there. Come on over and sit on my deck with me anytime. It's very peaceful looking at the birds and flowers and other critters that show up. Hugs to You!
