My Summer Deck "Pot" Garden

I do love flowers and each Spring I get the "fever" to fill all my empty pots on the deck with new annuals. I can't do much in the yard because I have a "digger" dog who will plow up anything I try to plant in the flower beds so I have to stick to the pots I keep up high enough he can't bother them. This is this years efforts.

Snoop has "pruned" the lower branches but the ones
he can't reach on the Rose Of Sharon are nice.

I grow the gladiolas in the front yard where
  Snoop can't get to them.

And Five Feet Wide This Summer.

You grow a lot of my favourite flowers, Anna. It's snowing here at the moment, believe it or not, so your beautiful POST is very welcome. Reminds me of summer to come!

Very Nice. You have arranged well.

Thanks Jill! Your summer flowers are always nice also...hard for me to imagine snow in this sweltering heat but it's a cool thought to think of what it's like right now on the opposite side of the world.

Thanks Chuck...I never have a plan...just pick out whatever appeals to me when I visit the nursery and I love variety.

What beautiful pictures! Your potted garden is just lovely. I love that you found a way to outsmart your "digger" and you get to still enjoy all the blooms! I can't decide which is my favorite potted plant because they are all so pretty. The Luna fascinates me that it comes back bigger each year. :) Wow! I am glad you get to stop and enjoy the flowers each morning!

Thanks Jess! Trying to outsmart Snoop is a challenge. I've tried planting things in the beds while he wasn't looking but he always manages to find and demolish them.

I do love the Luna's, the flowers are magnificent but only last one day but there is almost always another bud beside it ready to pop open. They bloom at midnight, the reason they are called Luna's.

I love your pot garden. And now I see what you mean about your deck's built-in bench. How perfect for displaying your beauties. I wish I could sit out there with you some morning sipping coffee and chatting about plants and publishing and all the other topics we have in common.

Snoop is too funny. HIS bench! He's a cutie pie. Great post my friend.

Thanks Grace! I'm sure you and I would find lots to discuss out on the deck about flowers and writing and a variety of other subjects. Thanks for visiting!

I imagine sweet aromas fill the air too.
